It all began at the age of 5 when I started digging in my grandmothers and mom's closet and jewelry boxes. It stuck with me for a lifetime.
After leaving the family nest at 18, I met my lifetime friend Lisa. One night (1983) sitting in a Vintage Dry Docked Ski Boat sharing stories and passions about fashion. That night we knew our next adventure was opening our vintage clothing store Decadence for women and men. The next day we found a For Rent sign in an old auto repair shop at 605 E. 37th St. (just off Guadalupe St.) Austin Texas. Within 2 weeks, Oil spills cleaned up, fresh paint and lots of elbow work and long nights, We had our Grand Opening where our good friends Scratch Acid played to help us introduce Decadence to Austin. We grew our Audience but out grew our space, relocating to the famous "Bluebonnet Plaza" 504 W. 24th in the heart of the UT Campus nestled between Mad Dog & Beans and Les Amis. As the years past, Life evolving in many directions Decadence closed in 1988 when we moved to Seattle WA. Lisa pursued her dream, drumming for local Seattle bands while I pursued Jewelry and Fashion design. Creating 'Black Widow Designs' and 'Donnaprime' lines which offered hand made one of a kind jewelry and clothing by revamping/reviving vintage items that were not in pristine shape.
By the early 90s I began studying Fashion Design at SCCC even with my hands full the passion with vintage reviving blossomed. I became one of the premier designers in Seattle selling at 13 local boutiques like Cicada Bridal, Nordstrom. I directed and choreographed fashion shows at RKANDY, The Weathered Wall, Clothes Horse Trading Company. This soon led me to be featured on the E Channel. It was 2003 when I opened my own boutique, Presence Art of Living 2003-2010. After closing Presence I then decided to reopen Decadence with Etsy in 2011.
